Player Code of Conduct
Each player has a responsibility to:
1. Practice and play with enthusiasm, play by the rules and in the spirit of the game and abide by the principles of Fair Play.
2. Respect opponents, teammates, coaches, volunteers and league officials
3. Refrain from engaging in horseplay and other conduct that presents a risk of injury to others or that demeans others.
4. Recognize that playing a team sport requires a commitment to the team in such ways as: being reliable in one’s attendance for games; being on time; being supportive of teammates, particularly those less skillful; being attentive during practices and games.
5. Refrain from unsportsmanlike play or manner.
6. Remember that coaches and officials are there to help and I will accept their decisions and show them respect.
7. Winning isn’t everything – having fun, improving skills, making friends and doing one’s best are also important.
8 . For safety, players are required to wear shin pads and cleats and at no time are hats or jewellery permitted on the field with the exception of medic alert identification.
9. Zero Tolerance on violence and harassment of other players, coaches, volunteers, league officials and
parents
Players and parents should be aware that violence and/or repeated demonstrations of conduct that are in direct violation with these guidelines, will be met with consequences. These consequences can include any of the following:
· Player will be benched for a duration determined by the coach
· Game suspension, parents & board notified
· Suspension for the remainder of the season, no refund of fees
* OMMS reserves the right to skip straight to #3 dependent on the severity of the issue.
