Parent Code of Conduct

Parents of Players have a responsibility to:

1.
Encourage your child and other participants in OMMS soccer to abide by the rules and, in general, emphasize sportsmanship ahead of winning.

2.    You must not leave your children at Burl’s Creek Family Event Park on game nights without a responsible guardian

3.    Have read and discussed the players’ code of conduct to your children and encourage them to follow it.

4.    Cheering for your child is great, but out of respect please refrain from coaching from the sidelines or near the goal. It distracts the kids and the coaches.

5.    Encourage your child to play fairly and to the best of his/her ability and, when he/she does so, to provide praise and encouragement regardless of the results of those efforts.

6.    Encourage your child to respect his teammates, coaches, volunteers, OMMS officials, and opponents.

7.    Encourage your child to refrain from dangerous play during games and practices.

8.    Refrain from criticism of coaches, referees, or opponents during games and in the presence of your child or other children. Constructive criticism, when you feel necessary, should be directed towards your teams’ coaches in private.

9.    When able, assist with tasks as requested by coaches or board officials (e.g., putting nets away after games, providing half-time snacks, etc) and stepping up if a coach is not present.

10. Abide by policies set forth by league and Burl’s Creek Family Event Park, including, no smoking on or near fields, no dogs and no alcohol

11. Must understand and be familiar with the Lost Child/Safety and Evacuation Procedure
